Students Learn The Importance Of Team Work At Brain Hurricane

Brain Hurricane is a free tutoring service for students from Kindergarten to eighth grade and is exemplified with various qualities like cooperative, fun, professional, effective, experienced and many more. The concept of this tutoring program was introduced by Reed Howard who has an experience of over 35 years in teaching. The teaching programs adopted at this program helps the students to learn in an innovative and fun manner.

Brain Hurricane understands very well that students cannot learn new things unless they are paying attention. So, in order to hold the attention and interest of students, various proven strategies like hands-on problem solving activities and movement activities are performed. The students learn the importance of team work in this program. They are divided in teams and are required to solve their curriculum related problems with the help of their teammates. This also helps in building confidence among them as they try to perform better than the rest of the teams. Extensive research is done by the highly qualified and skilled teachers to prepare the curriculum which is of interest of every student. The curriculum aligns with the national and state standards and contains all the relevant content. Brain Hurricane contacts the parents of the students from time to time to discuss the behavior, academic performance and attendance of their child.

A survey was conducted by Brain Hurricane in 2008-2009 which involved 253 parents of the students studying in the Chicago Public School System. This survey revealed that 68.7% of the parents believe that the tutoring program is liked by their children. 72.2% parents were so much satisfied with this program that they showed keen interest in signing up their child for this program again, 68.15% said that they would definitely recommend this program to other parents, and 75% of the students said that they like the instructors at this tutoring program.
